San Francisco, El Sky News — A road-rage incident turned violent in Marin Headlands near the Golden Gate Bridge when a Tesla driver repeatedly stabbed a cyclist, according to California authorities.
The incident occurred just before noon local time on Saturday in a popular parking area on the northwest side of the bridge. California Highway Patrol investigators said the confrontation escalated after a disagreement between the driver and the cyclist, leading the driver to pull out a knife.
“When patrol officers arrived, there was visible blood on the ground and a knife lying nearby,” said Officer Alex Ochoa of the California Highway Patrol, as cited by the San Francisco Chronicle.
The cyclist was immediately taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition, while both the driver and cyclist were detained for further investigation.
Marin Headlands is a popular tourist area, attracting over 13 million visitors annually, known for its scenic hiking and cycling routes overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Authorities described the incident as a stark reminder of the dangers of road-rage, even in busy tourist areas.
