Rachel Arnold Advances to China Open Quarterfinals

China, El Sky News – Malaysian squash player Rachel Arnold continued her strong form by advancing to the quarterfinals of the China Open 2025 after overcoming Belgium’s Nele Gilis in four games. Rachel secured the win with scores of 11-6, 11-9, 6-11, 11-6 in a 44-minute match that showcased her composure and control.

Her victory places her among the last eight, where she will next face Egypt’s world-class contender Hania El Hammamy. The upcoming match is expected to be a major challenge, as Rachel has yet to record a win against El Hammamy in their past meetings.

Meanwhile, two other Malaysian players ended their runs in the same tournament. Aifa Azman exited after a tight five-game battle against Egypt’s Salma Hany, while her younger sister Aira Azman fell to Amina Orfi, also from Egypt.
