Malaysia Shines at Australian Open 2025 as Sze Fei–Nur Izzuddin and Tang Jie–Ee Wei Power Into Semi-Finals

KUALA LUMPUR, El Sky News — Two Malaysian pairings delivered strong performances at the Australian Open as Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei secured their places in the semi-finals after convincing victories in Sydney. Both pairs advanced through matches that highlighted their consistency and tactical discipline on court.

Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin were pushed to three games in a tense quarter-final encounter against the mixed Korean-Malaysian duo Choi Sol Gyu-Goh V Shem. Despite dropping the second game, the Malaysian pair held their composure to close out the decider and seal their win in just over an hour. Their resilience has positioned them well as they prepare to face Indonesia’s Raymond Indra-Nikolaus Joaquin in the next stage.

Top-seeded Tang Jie-Ee Wei delivered a more straightforward victory, outplaying Taiwan’s Ye Hong Wei-Nicole Gonzales Chan in straight sets. Their win also marked their fourth success in five meetings against the same opponents, underscoring their dominance in the matchup. They will next meet Thailand’s Pakkapon Teeraratsakul-Sapsiree Taerattanachai, who advanced after a three-game battle in their own quarter-final.

Both Malaysian pairs head into the semi-finals with strong momentum, raising hopes for a potential all-Malaysia final at the tournament. Their performances also reflect continued progress in Malaysia’s mixed doubles and men’s doubles campaigns at the international level.
