Samsung Integrates Perplexity AI at System Level for Galaxy S26 Series

KUALA LUMPUR – Samsung has officially confirmed a groundbreaking partnership with Perplexity AI, marking a significant evolution in mobile intelligence. The upcoming Galaxy S26 series will feature Perplexity integrated directly into its operating system, making it the first non-Google entity to receive such deep system-level access on a Galaxy device.

Users will be able to summon the AI agent using the wake phrase “Hey Plex” or by pressing the side button, providing a seamless, native experience. This integration allows Perplexity to read and write directly within core Samsung applications, including Notes, Calendar, Gallery, Clock, and Reminders.

A Multi-Agent AI Ecosystem

The Galaxy S26 series is set to become the industry’s first “triple-threat” AI device, combining Galaxy AI, Google’s Gemini, and Perplexity natively. This strategy aligns with Samsung’s recent data, which indicates that nearly 80% of its users now utilize more than two different AI agents daily for various tasks.

Enhanced Search and Browsing

The partnership also breathes new life into existing Samsung features. Bixby will now leverage Perplexity’s API to deliver real-time, web-based search results. Additionally, the Samsung Browser will be upgraded with a Perplexity-powered agent, offering users context-aware search and task-solving capabilities directly within the browsing experience.

By embedding Perplexity directly into the hardware, Samsung eliminates the need for additional downloads, ensuring that the latest AI tools are ready for use right out of the box.
