Trump Demands Iran’s ‘Unconditional Surrender’ as Middle East Conflict Escalates

KUALA LUMPUR – U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his administration’s stance against Tehran, explicitly demanding an “unconditional surrender” from the Iranian leadership. The declaration, made on March 6, 2026, marks a significant shift in U.S. foreign policy, signaling that Washington is no longer seeking diplomatic compromise but a total change in the Iranian regime.

In a series of bold statements posted on his Truth Social platform, President Trump clarified that the ongoing military operations would not cease until Iran meets his demands.

“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump posted. He further introduced a new geopolitical slogan, “Make Iran Great Again” (MIGA), promising massive economic investments and reconstruction aid to the Iranian people—provided they install a new leadership “acceptable” to the White House.

The demand follows a week of intense military activity known as Operation Epic Fury. The conflict reached a boiling point in late February 2026 after a joint U.S.-Israeli precision strike resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Since the start of the offensive, U.S. and Israeli forces have reportedly struck over 3,000 strategic targets across Iran, including:

  • Command and control centers.
  • Advanced ballistic missile silos.
  • Key nuclear enrichment facilities.

The war has sent shockwaves through global markets. Following Iran’s retaliatory drone and missile strikes against Israel and Gulf states hosting U.S. bases—including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait—global oil prices have spiked. Brent crude has surged past $92 per barrel as concerns grow over the security of the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump has also taken the unusual step of publicly vetoing potential successors in Tehran. He explicitly rejected Mojtaba Khamenei (the son of the late Supreme Leader) as a viable candidate, calling him “unfit” for leadership.

Despite the immense military pressure, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian remains defiant. In a national address, Pezeshkian stated that while some nations have offered to mediate, Iran will not bow to “bullying and threats.” He emphasized that the Islamic Republic remains committed to defending its sovereignty at all costs.
