Honda Super One EV Debuts with Boost Mode and 205 km Range

KUALA LUMPUR,April – Honda has officially unveiled the full details of its latest compact electric vehicle, the Super One, highlighting a combination of lightweight design, innovative performance features, and city-focused practicality.

The Honda Super One is designed to offer a more engaging driving experience compared to typical compact EVs. It produces a standard output of 64 PS (47 kW), but what sets it apart is its unique Boost Mode, which increases power to 95 PS (70 kW) when activated. This feature is controlled via a steering wheel button and is paired with paddle shifters that simulate a seven-speed gearbox, giving drivers a sportier, more dynamic feel.

In terms of range, the Super One delivers an estimated 205 km (WLTP) on a full charge, supported by a battery pack of around 29.6 kWh. While this range is modest compared to larger EVs, it is considered sufficient for daily urban commuting.

Charging capabilities include DC fast charging up to 50 kW, allowing the battery to recharge from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. For home charging, an AC charger can complete a full charge in about 4.5 hours.

One of the key highlights of the vehicle is its lightweight construction, with a total weight of just 1,090 kg. This contributes to better efficiency, improved handling, and a more responsive driving experience. Honda engineers have also fine-tuned the suspension to ensure a balance between comfort and agility.

From a design perspective, the Super One features a compact, boxy shape inspired by Japanese kei cars, combined with sporty elements such as flared wheel arches and aerodynamic detailing. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a nine-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a seven-inch digital instrument cluster.

Additional features include a premium Bose audio system, ambient lighting, and a dedicated Boost Mode display that provides real-time performance data.

Honda positions the Super One as a modern reinterpretation of its classic compact performance cars, blending retro inspiration with advanced EV technology. The model is expected to launch in Japan in 2026, with potential expansion to other markets still under consideration.
