The incident reportedly began at around 2.15am when police attempted to stop the Honda City for inspection while it was travelling toward Kuala Lumpur along the Federal Highway. Instead of complying, the driver accelerated and fled, triggering a police chase through several major highways in the Klang Valley.

Authorities said the pursuit continued onto the SPRINT Highway before the vehicle eventually lost control near Jalan Johor close to Pavilion Damansara Heights.

Vehicle Crashed Into Roadside Signboard

According to police statements, the Honda City skidded during the chase and crashed into a roadside signboard near a U-turn section while heading toward the city centre.

The impact caused major damage to the vehicle and immediately ended the pursuit. Police officers then moved in to secure the scene and arrest the suspects involved.

However, a third suspect reportedly managed to flee on foot during the chaos following the accident and remains at large. Authorities are continuing efforts to locate and apprehend the individual.

Investigators have not yet publicly disclosed the nationalities of the suspects.

Police Found No Drugs or Weapons in Vehicle

Following the arrests, police conducted inspections on the crashed Honda City to determine whether the suspects were involved in criminal activity.

Incident Raises Concerns Over Dangerous High-Speed Chases

The case has once again highlighted public safety concerns surrounding dangerous police pursuits on heavily used highways in the Klang Valley.

The Federal Highway and SPRINT Highway are among the busiest road networks in the Kuala Lumpur metropolitan area, especially during peak traffic periods.

Road safety experts warn that high-speed pursuits can pose serious risks not only to suspects and police officers but also to:

  • Other motorists
  • Motorcyclists
  • Pedestrians
  • Nearby roadside infrastructure

Fortunately, no injuries to members of the public were reported during the incident.

Police Continue Investigation

Authorities are continuing investigations to determine why the suspects attempted to flee from police officers and whether the incident may be connected to other criminal activities.

Police are also reviewing:

  • Highway CCTV footage
  • Dashcam recordings from nearby vehicles
  • Traffic surveillance systems
  • Witness statements from the scene

Efforts are ongoing to track down the third suspect who escaped after the crash.

The dramatic pursuit and crash near Pavilion Damansara Heights have drawn significant public attention online, with many questioning the circumstances that led to the attempted escape.
