Durian Season 2026 Arrives in Johor Bahru as Fresh Supplies Begin to Circulate

Kuala Lumpur, 7 June 2026 — The durian season has arrived in Johor, with fresh supplies of premium varieties now reaching popular spots across Johor Bahru and nearby areas.

Orchards in the region are currently yielding good volumes of two highly sought-after types: Musang King, known for its rich, creamy texture and strong aromatic flavour, and Udang Merah, prized for its distinctive taste and quality.

As the season builds momentum and is expected to last through August, durian enthusiasts are heading out to enjoy the fruit at its peak. In the Gelang Patah and Lima Kedai areas, places such as Jai Durian 13 at 1, Jalan Gelang Patah are seeing visitors gather to savour these fresh seasonal offerings straight from nearby orchards.

Whether enjoyed on-site or taken home, the focus this season is on the freshness and quality of Johor’s durian harvest. Families and groups are taking the opportunity for relaxed gatherings centred around the simple pleasure of eating premium Musang King and Udang Merah together.

With steady supplies coming in, this year’s durian season offers locals and visitors several weeks to appreciate two of Malaysia’s most celebrated varieties while they are at their best.
