Jude Bellingham Named England’s Only Player in FIFA World Cup 2026 Dream XI

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 2026 – Jude Bellingham has been named in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Dream XI, becoming the only England player selected in the fan-voted team of the tournament.

The Real Madrid midfielder earned his place after an outstanding campaign in North America, scoring seven goals as England finished third under head coach Thomas Tuchel. The result represented the Three Lions’ best World Cup finish since winning the tournament in 1966.

Bellingham finished behind only France striker Kylian Mbappé, who scored 10 goals, and Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who recorded eight. His seven-goal total was also the highest achieved by an England player at a single major international tournament.

The 23-year-old scored during England’s group-stage victories over Croatia and Panama before producing some of his most influential performances in the knockout rounds.

He scored twice within 98 seconds during England’s dramatic 3-2 round-of-16 victory over co-hosts Mexico. Bellingham then added another two goals in a 2-1 extra-time win over Norway, securing England’s place in the semi-finals.

After England were defeated 2-1 by Argentina in the last four, Bellingham came off the bench in the third-place playoff and completed the scoring in a remarkable 6-4 victory over France.

Across the tournament, he appeared in all eight of England’s matches, starting seven, while also registering one assist and completing eight key passes.

Bellingham also reached two significant international milestones during the competition. He became the youngest European player to appear in four major international tournaments and later became the youngest England men’s player to earn 50 senior caps.

World champions Spain and France provided three players each in the Dream XI. Spain were represented by Pedro Porro, Marc Cucurella and tournament Golden Ball winner Rodri, while France had Dayot Upamecano, Michael Olise and Golden Boot winner Mbappé.

Argentina contributed two players, with Messi joined by defender Lisandro Martínez. Norway striker Erling Haaland was also included, while Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha earned a surprise selection after making 18 saves during his country’s historic World Cup debut.

The selection was determined through voting by football supporters around the world following the conclusion of the 48-team tournament. Spain lifted their second World Cup title after defeating Argentina 1-0 following extra time in the final.

The full FIFA World Cup 2026 Dream XI consists of goalkeeper Vozinha; defenders Pedro Porro, Lisandro Martínez, Dayot Upamecano and Marc Cucurella; midfielders Rodri, Michael Olise and Bellingham; and forwards Messi, Haaland and Mbappé.
