Farm Fresh Invests RM288 Million in Cambodia’s First Large-Scale Dairy Farm

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — Farm Fresh Berhad is investing US$68 million (approximately RM288 million) to develop Cambodia’s first large-scale dairy farm and fresh milk processing facility in Pursat province.

The Farm Fresh Pursat project will be developed through a collaboration between Farm Fresh, Cambodia’s Alpha Group, the Pursat provincial administration and Sonavith Co., Ltd. A land lease agreement has been signed to support the development.

Located in Veal Veng district, the project will cover about 1,000 hectares and include an international-standard dairy farm together with a local milk processing plant.

Farm Fresh Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Loi Tuan Ee said the investment is expected to increase Cambodia’s supply of high-quality fresh milk and meet growing consumer demand. The project is also designed to strengthen the country’s dairy production chain and reduce its dependence on imported milk products.

The investment could also create new employment opportunities for local communities and support economic development in Pursat. Provincial Governor Khoy Rida described the project as an important milestone for Cambodia’s dairy sector and national food security.

Cambodia has been heavily dependent on imported dairy products, with Thailand previously supplying more than 76% of the country’s dairy imports. Supply disruptions linked to border tensions with Thailand highlighted the risks of relying heavily on foreign sources.

In July 2025, some Cambodian supermarkets reportedly experienced milk shortages, while food and beverage businesses faced difficulties securing fresh milk supplies. This encouraged Cambodia to accelerate efforts to develop its domestic dairy industry.

Farm Fresh had earlier signed a memorandum of understanding with Alpha Group Cambodia on October 26, 2025, during the 47th ASEAN Summit to move forward with the development of the large-scale dairy production and processing facility.
