KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — The defence team representing a 15-year-old boy accused of murdering a female student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, says preparations have been made should the High Court order him to enter his defence.
Defence lawyer Kitson Foong said the legal team is currently awaiting the court’s decision before determining the next stage of proceedings. He said preparations for the defence stage have already been completed.
Foong said the defence is taking a realistic approach and believes there is a strong possibility that the teenager will be called to defend himself rather than being acquitted without having to present a defence.
If the court orders the accused to enter his defence, the legal team has already planned the sequence of witnesses who will be called to testify. Foong said Dr Ian Lloyd is among the witnesses expected to be presented by the defence.
The Shah Alam High Court is scheduled to decide on August 13, 2026, whether the teenager must enter his defence or be acquitted at this stage of the trial.
The case involves a fatal stabbing at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, in October 2025. The court’s ruling will determine whether the trial proceeds to the defence stage.
