Malaysian Arts Industry Mourns: Veteran Actor Dharma Harun Al-Rashid Passes Away, Found Lifeless at Home

KUALA LUMPUR, El Sky News – The local entertainment industry is once again struck by sorrow following the passing of respected veteran actor Dharma Harun Al-Rashid, who was confirmed to have died on Tuesday night. The late actor breathed his last at his residence in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, at the age of 68.

What makes the news even more heartbreaking is that Dharma Harun was reported to have passed away alone before being found by his son in a deeply distressing state.

Discovered by His Own Son

The tragedy came to light at around 9.10pm when the late actor’s son, Muhammad Al Syafiq, returned home after classes. He was shocked to find his father unresponsive.

According to reports, Al Syafiq discovered his father in a state described as “stiff and cold,” suggesting that the actor had passed away several hours earlier. The devastating discovery was immediately communicated to other family members, who later confirmed the passing of the Abang film star.

Battling Long-Term Illness

The loss of Dharma Harun leaves a profound impact, especially among those who followed his health journey. He had long struggled with multiple chronic health conditions, including asthma, heart and lung swelling, gastritis, and thyroid issues.

His condition reportedly worsened after he suffered a stroke in 2019, which affected his speech and overall physical ability. Despite these challenges, he was widely remembered as a resilient and spirited individual.

Final Farewell

At present, his remains are being managed at Masjid Abu Ubaidah Al-Jarrah in Taman Sri Rampai, Kuala Lumpur, before burial. The family has appealed to Malaysians to offer prayers for his soul to be placed among the righteous and faithful.

Dharma Harun Al-Rashid’s legacy and contributions to Malaysian film and television will continue to be remembered and honoured.
Al-Fatihah.
