TANAH MERAH, El Sky News – Residents in the Tanah Merah area of Kelantan were shocked by a tragic incident after a 40-year-old woman was found dead, covered in blood, at her residence yesterday. The victim was confirmed to have died due to severe stab wounds, believed to have originated from a domestic dispute.
Tanah Merah District Police Chief, Superintendent Azman Rahmat (fictitious name), confirmed that the victim was discovered lifeless by a neighbour who grew suspicious after hearing screams, prompting them to contact the authorities.
Suspect Surrenders After Picking Up Children
In a surprising turn of events, the victim’s husband, who is in his late 40s, was detained shortly after he surrendered himself to the police. According to sources, the suspect reportedly managed to pick up their children from school before presenting himself at the police station to provide a statement.
“The suspect, who is the victim’s husband, was arrested at the family’s residence after he came forward to surrender. The weapon believed to have been used in the incident was also recovered,” said Superintendent Azman when contacted.
The police are currently investigating the true motive that led to the heinous act, focusing on the possibility of long-standing marital problems.
Probed Under Section 302
The victim’s body has been sent to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II) for a post-mortem examination.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
Superintendent Azman advised the public not to speculate on the incident to respect the sensitivity of the victim’s family. He also urged any individuals with information related to the case to come forward and assist the investigation.
