PROTON Hosts Men’s Health Day 2025 to Promote Health Awareness Among Employees

TANJUNG MALIM, El Sky News – Leading national automotive manufacturer PROTON successfully organized Proton Men’s Health Day 2025 at the Admin Building Lobby of PONSB, Tanjung Malim, as part of its continuous efforts to promote health awareness and workplace safety among its employees.

Carrying the theme “Healthy Men, Safe Workplace, Stronger PROTON”, the one-day health-focused event ran from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM, featuring a wide range of activities including medical screenings, blood donation, health exhibitions, and medical talks by specialist doctors. The program was open to all employees at the PROTON manufacturing plant.

Official Launch and Blood Donation Drive

The event began with the arrival of exhibitors and the blood donation team, followed by registration for blood donors and booth setup. Visitors were able to undergo basic health screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar level, body mass index (BMI), and physiotherapy assessments conducted by Klinik Shaik.

The official opening ceremony was held at 9.30 AM and officiated by PROTON’s top management. It also featured the launch of the 14 Zero Harm Rule Challenge, an internal initiative aimed at strengthening workplace safety culture through education and awareness.

Health Talks by Medical Specialists

A series of educational health talks were delivered throughout the morning by invited medical professionals:

  • Heart Disease Awareness by Dr. Norsabihin Mohd Saleh, Consultant General Physician
  • Prostate Health by Dr. Mohd Firdaus Che Ani, Consultant in Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery
  • Knee Pain and Lower Back Pain by Dr. Mohd Yusoff Yahya, Consultant Orthopaedic and Traumatology Surgeon
  • Mental Health Awareness, highlighting the importance of psychological well-being among industrial workers

These sessions provided employees with practical medical knowledge and prevention tips to support long-term health.

15 Health and Wellness Booths Featured

A total of 15 booths took part in the exhibition, involving both public agencies and private healthcare providers. Among the participants were:

  • DOSH and NIOSH, offering workplace safety education
  • Kirana Medicare and Klinik Shaik for health screenings
  • Hospital Selgate Rawang providing dietitian consultation as well as eye and ENT check-ups
  • Decathlon promoting active and healthy lifestyles
  • St John Ambulance sharing emergency response and first aid awareness

  • Nutrition and wellness brands such as Vitagen and Farm Fresh

Additional booths from insurance providers, fitness centers, herbal health products, and the local district health office further added variety and educational value to the exhibition.

Strong Participation Throughout the Day

Blood donation registration remained open until 1.30 PM, while the health exhibition continued until the afternoon. The event also featured a 14 Zero Harm Rule Quiz, encouraging employees to test their knowledge on occupational safety and health practices.

Throughout the day, the booths — particularly health screening and blood donation stations — recorded high participation, reflecting strong interest among employees in maintaining good health and contributing to social responsibility efforts.
