Magika Studios: Selangor’s New ‘Edutainment’ Eco-Tourism Attraction Set to Open Mid-2026

SHAH ALAM, El Sky News – Selangor is poised to receive a new boost in its tourism sector with the development of Magika Studios, a unique ‘edutainment’ theme park concept at Mangrove Point, Port Klang. This strategic project, a collaboration between KRU Entertainment Sdn Bhd (KRUESB) and Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB), is expected to be fully operational by the middle of next year, coinciding with the second school break around May or June 2026.

Preserving the Environment Through Nusantara Myths

The President and CEO of KRUESB, Datuk Norman Abdul Halim, confirmed that Magika Studios is being developed as a tourism hub that integrates entertainment elements with environmental conservation.

According to him, the studio’s main attraction is to revive Malay mythical and legendary characters such as Hang Tuah and Badang, but with a new storytelling approach. This narrative will be aligned with important messages about sustainability and the preservation of nature.

“Magika Studios will be a bridge between entertainment and environmental education. It proves that sustainable development can be achieved through a creative approach,” said Datuk Norman in a recent media statement.

Unlike conventional theme parks, Magika Studios offers a different experience as it is located within the Mangrove Point area, which is part of the Raja Lumu Forest Reserve, spanning approximately $28.32$ hectares (70 acres).

Fusion of Technology and Mangrove Ecosystem

The Managing Director of LLSB, Syaiful Azmen Nordin, explained that Magika Studios is part of an ESG-driven (Environmental, Social, and Governance) development initiative under the Selangor Maritime Gateway (SMG) Project.

“This attraction will showcase the beauty of the mangrove forest at Mangrove Point, while promoting the value of sustainability through the medium of entertainment and education,” stated Syaiful Azmen.

Among the experiences awaiting visitors include:

• Animatronics and Audio Visual Performances that bring local folklore characters to life.
• Immersive Lighting in the mangrove forest area.
• Guided Tours along the existing boardwalk to enjoy the diversity of flora and fauna.

The project involves a significant investment and is expected to be a catalyst for the transformation of the Klang River estuary area, turning it into a unique eco-tourism destination and a creative, responsible environmental education center. This development is also hoped to change the public’s perception of the Klang River from merely a rehabilitated river to a new pulse for Selangor’s green economy and tourism.
