KUALA LUMPUR, El Sky News– Rising young singer, Marygrace, described her listing in the Top 10 for the Popular New Female Artist category at the 37th Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) as an achievement that was completely unexpected and far beyond anything she had ever dreamt of.
The 24-year-old, whose real name is Marygrace Jane C Penserga, admitted her shock and gratitude for the opportunity, considering she has only been building her name in the local arts scene for a short time.
“Honestly, I never imagined being nominated this quickly. When it was announced that I made the Top 10, it felt like a huge, very pleasant surprise,” said Marygrace when contacted by the media today.

For Marygrace, the nomination in a prestigious award like ABPBH is not just personal recognition, but also an honour for the fans who have tirelessly given their support.
“Although my time in the industry is still brief, this opportunity proves that my work is accepted and has found a place in the hearts of my fans. This is a great honour for me and also an encouragement to continue producing better work,” she added.
The singer, popular for several ballad songs, hopes that this nomination will open up more space and opportunities for her to expand her talent into various branches of the arts.

The Popular New Female Artist category sees fierce competition with several other new names who have also shone brightly throughout the year. However, Marygrace stated that she is not overly concerned with the competition, focusing instead on producing quality work.

The final results for the 37th ABPBH will be determined entirely by fan votes and are scheduled to take place early next year.
