16-year-old killed by classmate: Long-standing grudge sparked tragedy in Pune

RAJGURUNAGAR (INDIA), El Sky News – A 16-year-old boy lost his life after being stabbed by his own classmate in a tragic incident that occurred in Rajgurunagar, near the city of Pune, yesterday.

The bloody incident shocked the local community as the motive for the attack is believed to stem from a long-standing grudge that the two students failed to resolve.

According to reports from local authorities, the victim was stabbed with a sharp object following a heated verbal argument between the pair. Although the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately, he was pronounced dead due to the severe injuries sustained.

Pune police detained the suspect, who is also a peer of the victim, shortly after the incident. Preliminary investigations found that the two teenagers had frequently been at odds before, but the situation spiraled out of control, leading to the suspect’s desperate act.

“An investigation paper has been opened under the section for murder. We are currently reviewing CCTV footage and taking statements from witnesses at the scene to complete the investigation,” said a spokesperson for the Rajgurunagar area police.

The incident has caused an uproar at the educational institution, with many questioning how a disagreement between teenagers could end in the loss of life. The school also expressed its deep regret over the incident and is cooperating fully with the authorities.

The case is currently being processed under the local juvenile justice system, given that the suspect is still a minor.
