“No Hidden Intent”: Aishah Azman Defends Supportive Message to Kamal Adli Amid Backlash

KUALA LUMPUR, El Sky News – Malaysian actress Aishah Azman has hit back at critics following a wave of negative comments regarding her supportive social media post for fellow actor Kamal Adli. Aishah clarified that her message was purely an act of professional camaraderie and contained no hidden romantic intentions.

A Message of Solidarity

The controversy began when Aishah posted a message on the Threads platform shortly after the news of Kamal Adli’s divorce from Uqasha Senrose on January 12. Using the names of their characters from a previous drama, Aishah wrote: “May only the best come for KA (Kamal Adli). Stay strong, Budin. Sincerely from Dr. Afifah.”

While many saw it as a kind gesture between colleagues, some netizens accused her of being “opportunistic” or trying to flirt with the actor during his personal crisis.

Addressing the Critics

Responding to the backlash, Aishah expressed her disappointment with the “malicious” mindset of some social media users. She emphasized that offering a prayer for someone’s well-being should not be misinterpreted as something scandalous.

“I didn’t even use any heart emojis. I was simply wishing him well as a colleague,” she stated. She further urged the public to “spread prayers instead of slander,” calling out those who chose to view a simple act of kindness through a negative lens.

Context of the Divorce

Kamal Adli and Uqasha Senrose officially ended their marriage with a talak satu divorce at the Kuala Lumpur Lower Shariah Court earlier this week. The couple cited a lack of mutual understanding as the primary reason for the split.

Aishah is not the only celebrity to offer public support; several other industry peers, including Zain Saidin, have also shared messages of encouragement for Kamal Adli as he navigates this difficult period.
