Police Probe Suspected Murder of Man with Prior Criminal Record

KUALA LUMPUR – Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was found dead under suspicious circumstances earlier this week. Initial findings suggest the victim was murdered, prompting authorities to categorize the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Discovery of the Deceased

The victim was discovered with multiple physical injuries, leading forensic teams to conclude that foul play was involved. While the exact location has been cordoned off for investigation, the Forensic Department has been working to gather evidence at the scene to determine the cause of death and the weapon used.

Background Check Reveals Prior Offenses

As part of the standard identification process, a background check was conducted on the deceased. Police confirmed that the man had a history with law enforcement, carrying three previous criminal records. These past offenses were reportedly linked to both criminal activities and narcotics-related charges.

Motive and Suspect Search

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently looking into potential motives, including whether the victim’s past criminal ties played a role in the incident. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and interviewing potential witnesses to identify the perpetrator.

“We are exploring all angles in this investigation. Our priority is to track down the suspect and understand the circumstances leading to this violent act,” said a police representative familiar with the case.

The authorities have urged members of the public who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or have information regarding the victim to contact the nearest police station to assist in the ongoing probe. (Kayla Shabirah)
