Bitcoin Slides Toward $64,000 as Crypto Turmoil Continues

Kuala Lumpur,The world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), has fallen sharply this week, slipping **below the $65,000 mark and briefly approaching the $64,000 level — its lowest point in weeks — as broader crypto market instability persisted. According to CNBC, Bitcoin dipped under $65,000 on Monday amid heightened uncertainty over global economic conditions and risk sentiment.

On Monday, the digital asset traded as low as around $64,300–$64,800 — a nearly 5% intraday slide. This move marks a continuation of the volatile trend in 2026’s cryptocurrency markets, which have struggled to sustain momentum after reaching strong price levels late last year.

Market analysts point to macroeconomic uncertainty, including escalating concerns around U.S. trade policy and the impact of new tariff proposals, as key factors driving risk-off behavior among investors. In this environment, traders have been reducing exposure to higher-risk assets like Bitcoin and reallocating capital toward more traditional safe havens such as gold.

The broader cryptocurrency market has also felt the pressure, with other major tokens like Ethereum falling by similar percentages and the total crypto market shedding significant value over a short period.

Despite occasional rebounds, the short-term outlook remains uncertain as Bitcoin grapples with investor sentiment and its sensitivity to macroeconomic shifts.
