KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian healthcare group KPJ Healthcare has officially launched its first Neuroscience and Stroke Centre of Excellence, located at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2, in a move aimed at strengthening specialised neurological and stroke treatment services in the country.

The launch represents a key milestone in the group’s strategy to expand advanced medical capabilities across its hospital network while improving patient outcomes in complex neurological conditions.

The new centre forms part of the broader KPJ Health System, which focuses on integrating medical treatment, research and education to enhance healthcare standards in Malaysia and the region.

The Neuroscience and Stroke Centre of Excellence is designed to provide comprehensive and coordinated treatment for neurological emergencies, particularly stroke, which remains one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability worldwide.

The centre brings together a multidisciplinary team of specialists including neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency physicians, radiologists, intensive care specialists and rehabilitation experts.

This collaborative approach allows doctors to respond quickly during critical situations where rapid diagnosis and treatment are essential to preventing severe brain damage or long-term disability.

By integrating multiple medical specialties within one coordinated system, the facility aims to improve decision-making speed, streamline treatment processes and ensure continuous care from emergency admission through rehabilitation.

Advanced Imaging and Stroke Treatment Technology

The centre is equipped with advanced medical technologies designed to support fast and accurate diagnosis.
