Strong PH-Component Party Collaboration Key to Unity Government’s Strength in Penang

KUALA LUMPUR – The close cooperation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its component parties within the Unity Government remains the cornerstone of stability and strength for the coalition in Penang.

Penang PH Leadership Council Chairman, Chow Kon Yeow, emphasized that the “Stronger Together” approach is the most effective formula to fortify the coalition’s position ahead of the upcoming General Election (GE) and State Elections (PRN).

Speaking at the Penang PH Aidilfitri Open House in Permatang Pasir, Chow highlighted that the collaboration under the Unity Government banner has already proven successful in Penang.

“This approach is practical not just at the state level, but also nationally. Any alternative formula could potentially split votes, jeopardizing the chances of winning seats and giving an undue advantage to the opposition,” Chow told reporters.

The event was attended by prominent leaders from both PH and Barisan Nasional (BN), including:

• Steven Sim: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives & Penang DAP Chairman.
• Datuk Dr. Mohamad Abdul Hamid: Penang PKR Leadership Council Chairman & Deputy Chief Minister I.

Despite the diverse views within the various component parties, Chow—who is also the Chief Minister of Penang—noted that the unity built through this partnership has garnered significant public trust.

The state government remains confident in its track record, particularly in:

• Economic Development: Maintaining high levels of foreign investment and attracting new industries.
• Job Creation: Ensuring a steady growth of employment opportunities despite global economic challenges.
• Social and Religious Welfare: Continuing and expanding existing social programs and increasing allocations to meet the needs of the community.

Chow reiterated that the coalition’s primary goal is to provide a stable administration that focuses on the welfare of the people while navigating the complexities of modern politics.
