Iran Targets 70–80% Recovery of Refining Capacity Within Two Months, Oil Ministry Says

Iran says it expects to restore around 70–80% of its damaged refining and fuel distribution capacity within one to two months, as the country works to recover from recent attacks that hit its critical energy infrastructure, according to a senior oil ministry official.

Deputy Oil Minister Mohammad Sadeq Azimifar said repair operations are already underway across multiple facilities, with gradual restoration of refinery output expected as technical teams work to bring key units back online.

The announcement highlights Iran’s effort to stabilize its domestic fuel system and protect its wider energy sector, which plays a central role in both domestic consumption and export revenue.

Authorities confirmed that some refinery units are expected to resume operations within days, while others will be restarted in phases depending on damage assessments and technical recovery progress.

According to officials, part of the Lavan refinery is expected to restart within approximately 10 days, while other processing and distribution facilities will be reactivated progressively over the coming weeks.
