Kuala Lumpur – King Charles III has called on the United Kingdom and the United States to renew and strengthen their bilateral ties amid growing tensions in recent times.
In a speech expected to be delivered before the U.S. Congress, the British monarch emphasized that the relationship between the two nations has lasted for more than two centuries and remains one of the most significant alliances in the world. However, he also acknowledged that differences in views between London and Washington have become increasingly evident.
King Charles stressed that despite current challenges and disagreements, the transatlantic relationship has always proven resilient throughout history. He urged both sides to continue working together in the interest of global stability and shared priorities.
The call comes at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, including foreign policy differences and ongoing international conflicts that have placed pressure on UK–US relations.
