JDT Equals World Record of 108 Unbeaten League Matches After Thrashing Kelantan TRW 14-1

Kuala Lumpur – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) ended the 2025/2026 Malaysia Super League season in spectacular fashion by crushing Kelantan The Real Warriors (TRW) 14-1 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium last night. The victory not only secured their 12th consecutive Super League title but also equalled the world record of 108 unbeaten league matches, previously held by ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast from 1989 to 1994.

The Southern Tigers dominated the match from the first minute. They scored eight goals in the first half and added another six in the second half. Brazilian striker Bergson Da Silva was the star of the night, netting six goals (including two hat-tricks), bringing his seasonal tally to 27 league goals.

Other players who contributed to the scoring were Manuel Hidalgo (hat-trick), Antonio Glauder, Stuart Wilkin, Yago Cesar, Mohamed Syamer Kutty Abba, and Teto Martin. Kelantan TRW’s only consolation goal was scored by Muhammad Farris Izdiham in the 64th minute.

This 14-1 victory also set a new record as the biggest win in Malaysia Super League history since 2004, surpassing JDT’s own previous records of 11-2 and 10-0.

Remarkable Unbeaten Record

JDT’s last league defeat was in April 2021 against Terengganu FC. Since then, they have remained unbeaten in 108 consecutive league matches. If JDT avoids defeat in their opening match of the 2026/2027 season, they will officially break the world record.

This achievement places JDT among the most consistent teams in world football at the domestic league level and further cements their status as Malaysia’s football giants.

JDT’s Achievements This Season & Overall

  • Super League Champions – 12th consecutive title (since 2014)
  • 2025/26 Season Record – 23 wins, 1 draw, 117 goals scored, 10 goals conceded
