King Congratulates JDT on Historic Fourth Consecutive Malaysia Cup Victory

Kuala Lumpur, May 24, 2026 — The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, extended his congratulations to Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) for making history by winning the Malaysia Cup for the fourth consecutive time.

The victory was achieved after JDT defeated Kuching City FC 2-0 in the 2025/2026 Malaysia Cup final held at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil last night. Both goals were scored in the second half by Marcos Guilherme and substitute player Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi.

In a statement on his official Facebook account, Sultan Ibrahim expressed appreciation for the fighting spirit shown by the players and coaching staff of JDT, as well as the loyal support from fans who continue to inspire the team.

“Fans are always a source of inspiration and strength to the team, igniting the fighting spirit and motivating them to continue creating success,” said His Majesty.

The King also congratulated his son, Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the owner of JDT.

This win makes JDT the first team in history to successfully defend the Malaysia Cup title for four consecutive seasons, bringing their total Malaysia Cup trophies to six.

With this achievement, JDT continues to solidify its position as the giant of Malaysian football in the modern era.
