PSG Crowned 2025/26 Champions League Winners! Dramatic Penalty Shootout Triumph Over Arsenal

Kuala Lumpur – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have successfully defended their UEFA Champions League title for the second consecutive season. Les Parisiens defeated Arsenal 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1 (after normal time and extra time) in the final at Puskás Aréna, Budapest, on Saturday night (May 30, 2026) local time.

Arsenal took an early lead with a goal from Kai Havertz in the 6th minute, capitalizing on a defensive mistake by PSG to go 1-0 up. PSG, who dominated much of the first and second halves, equalized in the 65th minute through a penalty converted by Ousmane Dembélé. No further goals were scored until the end of 120 minutes, forcing the game into a penalty shootout.

In the high-stakes 11-meter drama, PSG showed remarkable composure. Lucas Beraldo became the hero by scoring the decisive penalty, securing a 4-3 victory for his team. Arsenal were left heartbroken, failing to win their first-ever Champions League trophy in club history.

PSG manager Luis Enrique praised his squad’s mentality after the match. “This is a historic night. The players showed the true character of champions,” he said.

This triumph makes PSG the first team to retain the Champions League title since Real Madrid’s back-to-back wins between 2016 and 2018. For Arsenal, the defeat was a bitter blow despite their impressive run throughout the competition.

Congratulations to PSG on their second Champions League title! A night full of tension and emotion in Budapest ended with blue-and-red celebrations in the Hungarian capital.
