Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II Debuts With Bigger Battery, More Power and Up to 629 KM Range

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2026 — Rolls-Royce has officially introduced the Spectre Series II, bringing key upgrades to its first fully electric production model, including a larger battery, improved range, faster charging and stronger power output.

The update applies to both the standard Spectre and the more powerful Black Badge Spectre, with both models now moving into their Series II forms. The Spectre was first introduced in October 2022 as Rolls-Royce’s first all-electric model, while the Black Badge version arrived later in February 2025.

One of the biggest upgrades is the new battery. The original Spectre Series I used a battery with a net energy capacity of 102 kWh, but the Series II now gets new battery cell technology that increases capacity to 112.4 kWh. This helps improve overall driving range by up to 18%.

With the upgraded battery, the standard Spectre Series II now offers a WLTP-rated range of between 582 km and 628 km, depending on specification. The Black Badge Spectre Series II delivers between 578 km and 629 km under the same WLTP cycle. For comparison, the earlier Series I model offered up to 530 km of range.

Charging performance has also been improved. Rolls-Royce says the Spectre Series II charges 14% faster, although the model continues to use a 400-volt electrical architecture. The improvement is expected to make long-distance use more convenient, especially for owners who regularly travel between cities or use the Spectre as a grand tourer.

The powertrain has also been upgraded. The standard Spectre Series II uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 601 PS, equivalent to 593 hp or 442 kW. This is an increase from the previous model, which produced 585 PS or 577 hp.

The Black Badge Spectre Series II remains the most powerful version in the range. It now produces 680 PS, equivalent to 671 hp or 500 kW, compared with 659 PS or 650 hp previously.

Torque has also increased. The standard Spectre Series II now delivers 1,015 Nm, which is 115 Nm more than before. Meanwhile, the Black Badge Spectre Series II can produce up to 1,100 Nm in its Spirited mode, up from 1,075 Nm previously.

Despite the mechanical and battery upgrades, Rolls-Royce has chosen not to make major exterior design changes. The Spectre Series II retains its fastback profile, clean body surfaces and split headlamp signature, showing that the brand remains confident in the original design language of its electric super-luxury coupe.

Instead of changing the overall shape, Rolls-Royce has focused on personalisation. Buyers now have access to a wider catalogue of bespoke options, including a new solid exterior colour called Ethereal Blue and a new 23-inch forged alloy wheel design.

For the Black Badge version, Rolls-Royce has introduced a new Iced Black Exterior Detailing package. This replaces most of the car’s brightwork with a matte finish, giving the performance-focused variant a darker and more assertive appearance.

The interior also receives a wider range of trim choices, reinforcing Rolls-Royce’s emphasis on personalisation. According to Car and Driver, the updated Spectre introduces new bespoke cabin options such as Duality Twill, a bamboo-based rayon fabric featuring up to 2.6 million stitches, as well as Placed Perforation leather, Brindled Walnut veneer and an illuminated fascia with more than 8,000 lights.

These upgrades show that Rolls-Royce is not treating the Spectre simply as an electric vehicle, but as a full luxury flagship that must meet the brand’s traditional expectations for craftsmanship, silence, comfort and individual expression.

The Spectre Series II also reflects Rolls-Royce’s broader move toward electrification. As the brand’s first production EV, the Spectre plays an important role in showing how electric power can fit within the ultra-luxury segment.

Unlike many performance EVs that focus mainly on acceleration figures, the Spectre is designed around smooth power delivery, refinement and effortless grand touring. The increased range and torque should help strengthen that character, giving owners more confidence while maintaining the calm driving feel expected from a Rolls-Royce.

The Black Badge Spectre Series II, however, adds a more powerful and expressive side to the model. With up to 680 PS and 1,100 Nm, it stands as the most powerful Rolls-Royce offering in the current line-up, aimed at customers who want a more intense version of the brand’s electric coupe.

The upgrade also makes the Spectre more competitive in the growing luxury EV market, where buyers expect long range, advanced battery technology and strong performance without sacrificing comfort or exclusivity.

While Rolls-Royce has not radically redesigned the Spectre, the Series II update improves the areas that matter most for an electric grand tourer: range, charging, power and personalisation.
