William Saliba Ruled Out for Extended Period as Arsenal Confirm Back Injury

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 2026 – Arsenal have confirmed that William Saliba will remain sidelined for an extended period after sustaining a back injury while representing France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 25-year-old centre-back returned to London for specialist assessments after struggling with the problem during the tournament. Arsenal said the examinations confirmed that surgery would not be required, but Saliba must follow a carefully managed rehabilitation programme before returning to competitive football.
