Porsche Unveils One-Off 911 Turbo S ‘Land Down Under’ to Celebrate 75 Years in Australia

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — Porsche Cars Australia has unveiled an extraordinary one-off 911 Turbo S named the “Land Down Under,” created to commemorate 75 years of Porsche’s presence in Australia.

The unique model was developed through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch personalisation programme in collaboration with the Style Porsche team and Sydney-based contemporary artist Werner Bronkhorst.

Rather than simply adding anniversary badges to an existing 911, Porsche transformed the sports car into an automotive tribute to Australia’s landscapes, colours and cultural identity.

The design draws inspiration from the country’s vast terrain, dramatic natural contrasts and the distinctive appearance of the Southern Hemisphere sky.

One of the most striking elements is its specially developed Chromaflair gradient exterior finish.

Porsche created two new colours exclusively for the project: Terra Australis Red for the lower section of the body and Southern Cross Blue across the upper portion.

The combination is intended to recreate the transition of an Australian outback sunset, where warmer earth tones gradually meet the cooler colours of the evening sky.

Depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions, the finish can appear to shift between desert orange, dusk-sky blue, eucalyptus green and sunrise gold.

Achieving the effect required a particularly intensive production process.

The exterior finish consists of seven hand-applied layers, with Porsche saying more than 300 hours of craftsmanship were required to complete the paintwork.

The bespoke details continue with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Turbo Exclusive wheels finished in Southern Cross Blue.

Porsche also introduced a subtle “ghosting effect” within the roof paintwork that reveals the number “75,” commemorating both Porsche’s motorsport heritage and its 75 years in Australia.

Bronkhorst added a series of miniature artworks inspired by Australian wildlife, landscapes and human figures. These details are positioned in unexpected areas around the exterior and interior, encouraging viewers to discover them gradually.

One of the car’s most playful features is hidden underneath its rear spoiler.

When the spoiler rises, it reveals the distinctly Australian message, “See ya later mate.” The message becomes visible when Sport Plus mode is activated or when the automatically deploying rear wing extends above 80km/h.

Inside, Porsche continued the Australian theme through a combination of Dark Night Blue leather and a specially created Coolibah Brown finish.

The 18-way Adaptive Sports Seats Plus feature an unusual paintbrush-inspired perforation pattern consisting of 14,417 individually positioned perforations.

Australian Silky Oak wood is also used across parts of the cabin, while topographical references to the Blue Mountains appear across the dashboard and side trim.

Above the occupants, the roof lining features an embroidered map of the Southern Hemisphere constellations as they appeared over Uluru in 1951 — the year Porsche first arrived in Australia.

Despite its extensive visual transformation, the “Land Down Under” retains the mechanical foundation of the 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S.

The hybrid-assisted powertrain produces 523kW, or approximately 701 horsepower, and 800Nm of torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels through an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.

The standard 911 Turbo S on which the project is based is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60mph in around two seconds, underlining that the anniversary creation retains the extreme performance expected from Porsche’s flagship 911 Turbo model.

Porsche Cars Australia CEO and Managing Director Daniel Schmollinger said the project demonstrates what can be achieved by combining Porsche craftsmanship with an ambitious artistic vision.

He said elements ranging from the Chromaflair gradient exterior to the bespoke interior details were created to reflect an appreciation for Australia’s natural beauty.

For Bronkhorst, the project provided an opportunity to translate his artistic approach — particularly his interest in texture, depth and the Australian landscape — into an entirely different medium.

The project also showcases the capabilities of Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme, which allows highly personalised vehicles to be developed in collaboration with customers, designers and engineers.

Following its debut in Australia, the 911 Turbo S “Land Down Under” is expected to appear at selected locations around the country as part of Porsche’s anniversary celebrations.

With more than 300 hours dedicated to its exterior finish alone and countless Australian references incorporated throughout the vehicle, the one-off creation represents more than a conventional special-edition sports car.

It serves as Porsche’s highly personalised tribute to 75 years in Australia, combining the performance of the latest 911 Turbo S with craftsmanship, contemporary art and design inspired by the Australian landscape.
