KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — Kith has revealed the latest chapter of its long-running collaboration with BMW, turning to one of the German automaker’s most recognisable historic colours as the foundation for its newest automotive and lifestyle project.
The fourth Kith for BMW chapter is centred around Inka Orange, a vivid colour first introduced by BMW in 1971 and closely associated with the brand’s sporting identity during the early 1970s. The colour appeared on models including the BMW 2002 tii and 3.0 CSi, making it an appropriate choice for a collaboration heavily influenced by BMW heritage.
For the new project, Kith founder Ronnie Fieg has created two one-of-one BMW builds: a 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi (E9) and a 1987 BMW M6 (E24). Both vehicles have undergone extensive restorations and are finished in matching Inka Orange paintwork.
The choice of the two cars also reflects a connection between different periods of BMW’s grand touring history. The E9-generation 3.0 CSi preceded the E24 6 Series, making the M6 a natural successor to the earlier coupe in the brand’s lineage.
Two Classic BMWs Completely Rebuilt
The 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi began as a donor vehicle before undergoing a comprehensive frame-off restoration. Its body was stripped to bare metal, treated and repainted before being carefully reassembled.
The restoration retained major original components sourced with assistance from BMW’s archives, including the M30 straight-six engine, transmission, rear axle, suspension and braking components.
Inside, the classic coupe receives a Kith-inspired cabin finished in caramel leather, complemented by an embossed Kith monogram. Restored instrumentation and wood trim maintain the period character of the car while introducing the fashion label’s distinctive design language.
The 1987 BMW M6 E24 received a similarly extensive restoration. Its body was stripped back and rebuilt while retaining its S38 inline-six engine, Getrag five-speed manual transmission, differential, suspension and brakes. The car also rides on OEM BBS Style 5 wheels.
Like the 3.0 CSi, the M6 features a caramel leather interior with Kith monogram detailing, visually connecting the two vehicles despite the 15-year gap between their model years.
Inka Orange Returns to the Spotlight
Inka Orange was originally introduced by BMW in 1971, initially serving as a highly visible paint colour. It later became closely associated with BMW’s increasingly performance-oriented image during the 1970s.
The colour has since become a distinctive part of BMW’s heritage, particularly among enthusiasts and collectors of classic models.
For Kith, Inka Orange becomes the latest colour to define a chapter of its BMW partnership. Previous collaborations have used historically significant shades and bespoke finishes to connect BMW’s past with contemporary design.
The partnership began in 2020, when Kith worked with BMW around founder Ronnie Fieg’s restored E30 M3 and a broader fashion and accessories collection.
A second chapter followed in 2022, while the third collaboration arrived in 2024 with Techno Violet, highlighted through a restored BMW M1 and the BMW XM Kith Concept.
Inka Orange now becomes the defining colour of Chapter Four.
Kith for BMW 2026 Collection Coming August 17
The two restored cars also serve as inspiration for the wider Kith for BMW 2026 apparel and accessories collection. The project continues the collaboration’s approach of combining automotive heritage, fashion and lifestyle design within one visual identity.
The Kith for BMW 2026 collection is scheduled to launch globally on Monday, August 17, 2026, with availability through Kith stores in New York, London, Paris and Tokyo, as well as online and through the Kith App.
The two bespoke BMWs themselves are not being offered for sale. Instead, they function as design showcases for the new chapter and demonstrate how Kith is continuing to reinterpret significant moments from BMW’s history through modern fashion and automotive culture.
With the Inka Orange 3.0 CSi and M6 E24, the fourth collaboration once again connects two generations of BMW design while transforming a heritage colour into the central identity of a contemporary lifestyle collection.
