52,750 Rumah Selangorku Units Completed by Mid-2026, Another 34,287 Under Construction

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — A total of 52,750 Rumah Selangorku (RSKU) units involving 167 projects have been completed and handed over to buyers as of mid-2026, reflecting continued progress in Selangor’s affordable housing programme.

State Housing and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said another 34,287 RSKU units across 68 projects were still under construction during the same period.

The figures were presented during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting in response to a question on the latest status of RSKU construction and unit delivery up to the middle of 2026.

Borhan said the progress indicates that Selangor’s efforts to expand affordable housing remain on a positive trajectory as the state continues working towards its housing targets.

To ensure that more homes priced below RM250,000 are made available to eligible buyers, the state government is implementing the RSKU 3.0 policy, which determines the composition of Rumah Selangorku developments according to designated zones and development sizes.

The policy is part of Selangor’s wider strategy to increase affordable housing supply while taking into account differences in development potential and housing demand across the state.

The government has also introduced incentives aimed at encouraging property developers to build more affordable homes. These include a 100 per cent exemption on development charges, alongside initiatives such as the RSKU Harapan policy and Rumah Idaman MBI Selangor.

These measures are intended to make affordable housing projects more viable for developers while expanding access to home ownership for Selangor residents.

The state government is also strengthening oversight of housing developments that have fallen behind schedule or have been classified as problematic projects.

Through the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), intervention measures are being implemented across monitoring, enforcement and administrative areas to help revive delayed developments and ensure that projects can be completed according to plan.

Borhan stressed that the state government would not compromise with developers that fail to comply with approved project implementation schedules.

Among the measures available to authorities are the issuance of compliance notices, implementation of recovery plans and stop-work orders where necessary.

Developers that fail to meet their responsibilities may also face restrictions when seeking consideration for new development applications, while additional conditions may be imposed before future projects receive approval.

The enforcement measures underline the state government’s effort to ensure that affordable housing commitments translate into completed homes rather than developments remaining stalled for extended periods.

With more than 52,000 RSKU units already completed and over 34,000 additional homes currently under construction, Selangor continues to position affordable housing as an important component of its development agenda.

The combination of RSKU 3.0, developer incentives and stronger intervention against delayed projects is designed to maintain housing supply while improving the likelihood that approved developments are completed and delivered to buyers.

As housing affordability continues to be a major concern for households in rapidly developing areas of Selangor, the continued rollout of Rumah Selangorku is expected to remain an important mechanism for expanding access to homes priced within reach of more residents.
