Back to Japan: Batik Air Relaunches Direct KL–Osaka Flights

Kuala Lumpur, El Sky News – Exciting news for fans of Japanese culture and cuisine! Local airline Batik Air has confirmed the return of its long-awaited direct flights connecting Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Osaka.

This announcement not only marks the strengthening of Batik Air’s international network but also opens a new chapter for Malaysian travelers to explore the Kansai region without transiting through a third country.

Enhanced Flight Experience with Wide-Body Aircraft

According to the airline, the KLIA–Osaka (KIX) route is set to resume on 15 December 2025, operated using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft.

The use of larger, more comfortable aircraft represents a significant upgrade from previous operations, which involved stopovers and smaller planes.

Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Chief Executive Officer of Batik Air, said that the Osaka route revival is among the most eagerly anticipated by both the airline and its customers.

“With the increased capacity provided by the A330, we are not only reconnecting two dynamic cities but also enhancing the travel experience with added comfort and amenities,” he stated.

Osaka, famously dubbed the “Kitchen of Japan” (Tenka no Daidokoro), is a prime destination for travelers seeking delectable street food, vibrant nightlife, and serves as the main gateway to heritage-rich Kyoto and the scenic city of Nara.
