BN Sabah Unveils “Sabah 1” Six-Pillar Plan for Statewide Transformation

Sabah, El Sky News — Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah has officially launched its manifesto ahead of the state election, presenting the “Sabah 1” six-pillar plan aimed at comprehensive development and reform across Sabah. The party emphasized that the initiative is designed to enhance economic growth, social welfare, governance, and sustainable resource management.

Economic development forms a core part of the plan. BN promises the establishment of a Sabah Wealth Fund to attract long-term investment and the construction of 15,000 affordable homes annually through the “Rumah SabahKu” program. Infrastructure improvements, including a new airport, upgraded roads, and a port in Kudat, are highlighted as strategic projects to boost connectivity and trade.

The manifesto also prioritizes the empowerment of women and youth, with programs to enhance participation in entrepreneurship and community development. BN proposes establishing cooperatives in every district and a state-level Ministry for Women, Family, and Community Development to strengthen these efforts. Education is positioned as another key pillar, aiming to improve access and quality throughout the state.

On governance, BN pledges administrative reforms to increase accountability and efficiency. Measures include limiting the tenure of the Chief Minister to two terms and allocating appointed seats in the state assembly for minority groups, professionals, and persons with disabilities. These initiatives are intended to promote inclusivity and transparent governance.

Public health and social protection are also emphasized, with commitments to provide support for vulnerable populations and low-income households. Lastly, the plan addresses environmental sustainability, stressing responsible management of Sabah’s rich natural resources to balance economic growth with ecological preservation.

Through the “Sabah 1” six-pillar plan, BN Sabah aims to present a holistic vision that combines economic progress, social welfare, governance reform, and environmental stewardship. Observers note that while some proposals are concrete and actionable, the success of the plan will depend heavily on effective implementation and ongoing public accountability.
