Flash Floods Trigger Heavy Traffic on NKVE Near Shah Alam

Petaling Jaya, El Sky News – A sudden flash flood along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) caused significant traffic congestion on Monday morning, particularly at Kilometer 9.1 near the Shah Alam Toll Plaza. The incident disrupted traffic flow in the area as water levels rose quickly following heavy rain.

According to the highway operator, the left lane, middle lane, and the ramp leading to the Shah Alam Interchange were blocked due to the flooding. The lane closures resulted in slow-moving traffic and long delays for motorists heading towards Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas.

Authorities urged road users to remain cautious while driving through the affected stretch and advised them to consider alternative routes to avoid prolonged congestion. Motorists were also reminded to monitor real-time traffic updates and plan their journeys carefully, as flash floods in the Klang Valley can occur with little warning.

The situation was being monitored closely, and highway personnel were deployed to manage traffic and assist in ensuring safety along the route. Further updates were expected as water levels receded and clean-up efforts progressed.
