Erra Fazira Officially Marries Ezwan Zain in Elegant Subang Ceremony

SUBANG, Selangor, El Sky News — Malaysian entertainment icon Erra Fazira has officially tied the knot with entrepreneur Ezwan Zain in a heartfelt nikah ceremony held this morning, marking a new chapter in her personal life. The event, which took place at Rinjani Majestic, Kampung Melayu Subang, was attended by around 300 guests including close family, friends, and members of the media.

Ceremony Details and Traditions

The solemnisation was conducted around 9:19am local time by Assistant Registrar of Marriages Mohd Sabirin Noordin of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council. In a ceremony described by attendees as elegant yet meaningful, Erra whose real name is Fazira Wan Chek received her mas kahwin in the form of a 102‑gram symbolic golden flower (pokok ufti bunga emas), reflecting Malay matrimonial traditions.

Alongside the mas kahwin, the bride also received a Cartier diamond ring estimated at RM80,000, as well as other gifts presented collectively on a single tray rather than the conventional multiple trays of dulang hantaran. This simplified presentation was intentionally chosen by the couple as a practical approach for their wedding.

The Bride and Groom

At 51 years old, Erra Fazira looked radiant in a powder‑blue traditional ensemble designed by famed Malaysian designers Rizman Ruzaini, complementing the wedding’s mostly white theme. The groom, 44‑year‑old businessman Ezwan Zain, also presented a poised presence beside his bride.

The couple exchanged vows before their loved ones, celebrating not just a union but also a genuine expression of mutual commitment. Close family members including Erra’s mother were present, sharing in the joy of the occasion which blended traditional elements with modern stylistic touches.

A Meaningful Celebration and Personal Journey

Erra’s path to wedding day has been followed closely by fans and media alike. The singer‑actress widely known for her work across film, television, and music formally announced the wedding date on 2 December 2025 during a press event for the Cinta Abadi 2025 music video launch. She shared that the long‑awaited moment had finally arrived “if all goes well.”

Earlier interviews revealed that Erra and Ezwan’s relationship blossomed over time, with the actress expressing her desire to find a lifelong companion and stressing that her decision was rooted in genuine personal goals rather than haste or pressure. She emphasized that she did not want to be alone in her later years, seeking a meaningful partnership for the long term.

Reception and Broader Context

Following the nikah, the couple is expected to host a wedding reception on 13 December 2025, providing a space for extended celebrations with family and friends. The ceremony’s elegant yet intimate approach reflects Erra’s stated preference for a meaningful but not extravagant event, a contrast to some large‑scale celebrity weddings.

This union marks Erra’s third marriage. Previously, she was married to musician Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim (2003–2006) and later to businessman Engku Emran (2007–2014), with whom she shares a daughter, Engku Aleesya, now 16 years old.
