Man Found Dead After Falling into Fish Pond in Batu Kurau

KUALA LUMPUR – A man in his 40s was found dead after reportedly falling into his fish pond at Batu 20, Kampung Sungai Nangka Jelai, Perak, on Tuesday night.

The victim was believed to have been casting a net (menjala) along the edge of the pond when the tragic accident occurred.

The Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8:02 PM. A team of first responders from the Batu Kurau Fire and Rescue Station was immediately dispatched and arrived at the scene 16 minutes later.

Upon arrival, rescue personnel discovered the victim lying unconscious on the embankment of the pond. Medical officers from the Ministry of Health, who were also present at the site, later confirmed that the man had passed away at the scene.

According to a spokesperson for the department, the operation to secure the area and recover the body was concluded at 9:38 PM. The victim’s remains have since been handed over to the police for further investigation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities have yet to release the identity of the deceased as investigations continue.
