Woman’s body dismembered: Police confirm new discovery

KOTA KINABALU – Police have confirmed new developments in the investigation into the shocking discovery of a dismembered woman’s body at a rubbish disposal site in Taman Indah Permai, Sepanggar, on Thursday morning.

The gruesome remains were found at approximately 7:00 a.m. by a garbage truck worker who was carrying out routine waste collection in the area. Upon inspection, several body parts believed to belong to a woman were discovered inside black plastic bags that had been discarded at the site. The worker immediately alerted authorities, prompting a swift response from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Acting Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Superintendent Syed Lot Syed Ad Rahman confirmed the incident and said investigations are actively underway. He revealed that police have made new findings related to the case, although specific details have not yet been disclosed to avoid compromising the investigation.

Forensic teams were deployed to the scene to collect evidence and examine the remains. The body parts have since been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and to assist in identifying the victim. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and gathering intelligence to trace possible suspects.

Authorities have classified the case as a murder and are exploring all possible angles, including whether the crime was committed locally or if the body was disposed of at the site after the incident occurred elsewhere.

Residents in the surrounding area expressed shock over the discovery, describing it as deeply disturbing. Police have urged the public not to speculate and to refrain from spreading unverified information on social media, emphasizing that official updates will be provided as soon as confirmed.
