Malaysia Aviation Group to Operate Over 2,700 Flights with Fixed Fares for Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri Travel

Kuala Lumpur, El Sky News — As the Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri travel season approaches, the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has announced a significant deployment of domestic flights to support the annual surge in passenger travel.

Through its carriers Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, MAG plans to operate more than 2,700 flights across Peninsular and East Malaysia during the peak period — a key effort to make it easier for Malaysians to return home and reunite with loved ones for the festive celebrations.

✈️ Expanded Flight Schedule

  • Malaysia Airlines will operate up to 1,557 flights, while Firefly will provide about 1,176 services, connecting major cities and regional hubs.
  • The expanded schedule includes additional routes and red‑eye (overnight) flights to popular destinations like Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Kuching — allowing travellers to maximise their time at home.

💸 Fixed and Capped Fares to Keep Travel Affordable

To support travel affordability during the busy festive period, both airlines are offering fixed all‑in one‑way fares to key East Malaysia destinations. Starting fares include:

  • Malaysia Airlines: from RM339 (to Sarawak) and RM399 (to Sabah)
  • Firefly: from RM298 (to Sarawak) and RM348 (to Sabah)

Additionally, fare caps have been introduced for selected travel dates, helping prevent excessive price spikes as demand peaks.

🎉 Connecting Families for Festive Joy

MAG’s announcement reflects broader airline and government efforts to ensure smoother and more affordable travel during major holidays. Similar fixed‑fare initiatives have been offered by other carriers like AirAsia and Batik Air to help Malaysians plan their festive trips with greater certainty.

With travel demand expected to surge as Ramadan begins and Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, MAG’s expanded flight operations and fare initiatives aim to support meaningful family reunions while maintaining accessibility for passengers nationwide.
