Bursa Malaysia Set to Test 1,770 Level This Week

Kuala Lumpur, Bursa Malaysia is expected to trade higher this week and potentially test the 1,770 level, supported by improving market sentiment and the ongoing corporate earnings season.

Analysts say investors will closely monitor quarterly results as they assess the resilience of corporate earnings amid a stable macroeconomic backdrop. The banking sector continues to provide structural support to the market, benefiting from solid fundamentals and steady financial conditions.

Malaysia’s economy expanded by 6.3% in the fourth quarter of 2025, while inflation remained moderate — factors that have helped sustain confidence in the broader equity market.

However, some analysts caution that the market may move sideways in the near term as investors digest recent gains. Profit-taking activities in blue-chip stocks could limit further upside momentum.

The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) closed higher last week, gaining around 13 points, signaling positive momentum heading into the new trading week.

With earnings announcements accelerating, all eyes will be on whether the index can break above the key psychological resistance at 1,770.
