Two Supervisors Killed After Being Thrown from Car in Second Link Five-Vehicle Crash

KUALA LUMPUR, May, 2026 — Two men identified as construction site supervisors were killed after being ejected from a Proton Persona involved in a five-vehicle crash at Km25.3 of the Second Link Highway (Johor–Singapore Second Link) early Sunday morning.

Authorities confirmed that both victims died at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the high-impact collision.

Car Lost Control Before Multi-Vehicle Impact

According to preliminary police findings, the accident occurred at approximately 5.40am when the vehicle carrying the two victims lost control, skidded, and struck the central road divider.

The impact triggered a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles travelling along the busy highway, resulting in a five-vehicle pile-up.

Multi-vehicle collisions of this nature are often highly dangerous due to the speed and limited reaction time on expressways.

Victims Thrown from Vehicle in Severe Impact

Iskandar Puteri police confirmed that the driver was thrown out of the car onto the roadway, where he was struck by passing vehicles.

The second victim, a passenger, was also ejected from the vehicle due to the force of the crash and landed in a separate lane.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Chain Collision Involving Multiple Vehicles

Police said the initial crash led to a chain-reaction collision involving at least five vehicles, including cars and a motorcycle.

Investigators are examining whether:

  • Speeding
  • Loss of vehicle control
  • Road conditions
  • Driver reaction time

contributed to the fatal crash.

Investigation Under Road Transport Act

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death.

Authorities have urged witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage to come forward to assist investigations.

Highway Safety Concerns Raised Again

The Second Link Highway is one of the busiest routes connecting Malaysia and Singapore, often experiencing heavy traffic flow and high-speed driving conditions.

Fatal multi-vehicle crashes on expressways continue to raise concerns over:

  • Speed compliance
  • Vehicle spacing
  • Driver alertness during early morning hours

The tragic accident at the Second Link Highway has claimed the lives of two supervisors after a violent multi-vehicle crash that saw both victims ejected from their car.

Authorities continue to investigate the full cause of the collision as road safety concerns on major expressways remain in focus.
