Pentagon Releases New Batch of Declassified UFO Files Following Trump’s Transparency Pledge

Kuala Lumpur — The Pentagon on Friday released a fresh collection of declassified documents and videos related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), commonly known as UFOs, marking the second major release under President Donald Trump’s directive for greater government transparency.

The latest batch includes more than 50 previously classified videos, along with first-hand accounts, photographs, and official reports spanning decades. Many of the videos show mysterious objects in the sky, some appearing to fly in formations, while others demonstrate unusual acceleration or behavior that military observers could not immediately explain.

According to NBC News, the release comes directly in response to President Trump’s pledge to make long-hidden government UFO files available to the public. The files are being published on a dedicated government website (war.gov/UFO) on a rolling basis, with the first batch released earlier in May 2026.

Highlights from the new documents include:

  • Footage from a U.S. Coast Guard aircraft capturing an unidentified object near a plane over the Southeastern United States in 2024.
  • Military video from Syria in 2021 showing an object that suddenly speeds away after being tracked.
  • A detailed first-hand account from a U.S. intelligence officer who described an encounter with “orbs” that left him “virtually speechless.”
  • Historical reports, including sightings of green orbs near Sandia Base in the late 1940s and audio from the Apollo 12 mission in 1969.

While some videos appear to show drones, balloons, or sensor artifacts, others remain unexplained. The Pentagon has emphasized that it is not drawing conclusions about extraterrestrial origins, focusing instead on transparency and national security implications.

This latest disclosure is part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE). Officials say more files will continue to be released in the coming weeks and months.

The public’s fascination with the topic remains high, with the dedicated UAP website already receiving over a billion visits since the initial release.

NBC News Pentagon correspondent Courtney Kube reported that this second batch builds on earlier declassifications and continues the government’s efforts to address long-standing public interest in unidentified aerial phenomena.
