Zeekr 9X Becomes First Chinese Car To Receive Mansory Treatment With Carbon Fibre And Suicide Doors

KUALA LUMPUR,MAY,2026 – The Zeekr 9X has made history as the first Chinese car to receive the Mansory treatment, signalling a major expansion for the German tuning house into China’s growing luxury vehicle segment.

The model, officially presented as the Zeekr 9X by Mansory, made its appearance in First Edition form at Auto China, also known as Auto Beijing. According to Paul Tan, the project marks Mansory’s first modification programme involving a Chinese vehicle, with the Zeekr 9X chosen as the starting point for the brand’s new direction.

The Zeekr 9X itself is already positioned as a flagship luxury SUV from the Geely-owned premium brand. Reuters previously reported that Zeekr debuted the 9X as its first hybrid model at the Shanghai auto show, marking the company’s move beyond fully electric vehicles into high-performance hybrid technology.

For the Mansory version, the German tuner has applied a series of exterior upgrades that give the large SUV a more aggressive and exclusive appearance. These include carbon-fibre components such as a redesigned front lip, wheel arches with integrated air channels, side skirts, a roof spoiler and a rear apron with a diffuser element.

One of the most eye-catching features is the availability of rear-hinged suicide doors, similar in concept to those used on ultra-luxury models such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Mansory said the conversion required major work to mirror the door hinges from the B-pillar to the C-pillar while repositioning the door handles and maintaining the SUV’s original design balance.

The company also said all mechanical modifications were carried out while retaining the vehicle’s standard safety features. Mansory added that the visual changes were carefully integrated, sometimes using new body parts and repainting, so the rear-door conversion would appear seamless.

At the rear, the Zeekr 9X by Mansory also receives two tailpipes on each side of the vehicle. The tuner describes the exhaust setup as providing a stronger soundtrack to match the SUV’s performance character, although the main powertrain remains unchanged.

The standard tri-motor plug-in hybrid powertrain is retained, producing 1,400 PS, or 1,381 hp, and 1,410 Nm of torque. The Zeekr 9X is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.

Mansory also introduced a new wheel design through the Zeekr 9X project. The SUV becomes the first vehicle to feature the tuner’s new FT.19 forged lightweight wheels, measuring 24 inches and paired with 295/30 tyres. Mansory said the wheels were designed specifically for the weight and performance demands of modern high-performance SUVs.

Inside, the Zeekr 9X by Mansory receives a more premium cabin treatment. The interior features a bright full-leather theme, illuminated Mansory logos on the four door panels, additional carbon-fibre details, a Mansory steering wheel, custom floor mats and carbon-fibre sports pedals.

The cabin upgrades reinforce Mansory’s usual approach of combining visual drama with extensive personalisation. While the standard Zeekr 9X is already positioned as a high-end six-seat SUV, Mansory’s version pushes the model further into the ultra-luxury custom segment.

The timing of the project is also significant. Chinese automakers are increasingly competing in premium and high-performance segments, while European tuners are beginning to take Chinese luxury vehicles more seriously as modification platforms.

The Zeekr 9X is also part of China’s wider push into advanced vehicle technology. Reuters reported that the SUV was planned with L3-ready autonomous driving capabilities, supported by five lidars and two Nvidia Thor chips, although regulatory approval is still required before such features can be used fully on public roads.

For Mansory, the Zeekr 9X project opens a new chapter beyond its traditional focus on European luxury and performance vehicles. The brand is widely known for modifying models from Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz and Bentley, but the Zeekr 9X shows that Chinese premium vehicles are now entering the global customisation space.

The move could also increase international attention on Zeekr as a luxury brand. By becoming the first Chinese car in Mansory’s portfolio, the 9X gains a new layer of prestige among buyers who are interested in rare, personalised and highly visible vehicles.

In Malaysia, the Zeekr 9X has already been confirmed for arrival, with Paul Tan reporting that the SUV is expected near the end of 2026. This means local buyers may eventually see the standard 9X on Malaysian roads, although the Mansory conversion would likely remain a costly custom option for select customers.
