Anwar Urges Johor Voters To Give Pakatan Harapan Five-Year Mandate

KUALA LUMPUR,June, 2026 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has appealed to Johor voters to give Pakatan Harapan candidates a clear five-year mandate in the upcoming Johor state election.

Anwar, who is also the Pakatan Harapan chairman and PKR president, made the appeal through a Facebook post, saying that the coalition is ready to shoulder the responsibility of leading the state if given the trust by the people.

In his message, Anwar said Pakatan Harapan candidates are prepared to serve with full commitment and integrity. He also assured voters that the coalition would not betray the mandate given by the people, stressing the importance of trust, responsibility, and justice in leadership.

The prime minister said he was making a humble appeal to the people of Johor to allow Pakatan Harapan candidates to lead the state for the next five years. His statement reflects the coalition’s effort to strengthen public confidence as the election campaign continues across the southern state.

Anwar also referred to Verse 58 of Surah An-Nisa, which highlights the importance of fulfilling responsibilities entrusted to leaders and upholding justice. The reference underlined his message that leadership must be carried out with honesty, fairness, and accountability.

Pakatan Harapan is contesting all 56 seats in the Johor state election, making the polls a major political test for the coalition. The election is expected to determine the future direction of the state government for the next five years.

The Johor state election will see voters deciding which political coalition will be given the mandate to govern the state. For Pakatan Harapan, Anwar’s appeal serves as a direct call for voters to support the coalition’s candidates and give them the opportunity to implement their agenda for the people of Johor.

Polling day for the Johor state election is scheduled for July 11, while early voting will take place on July 7.

As campaigning intensifies, political parties and candidates are expected to continue reaching out to voters across Johor, focusing on public trust, governance, leadership, and the future development of the state.

Anwar’s appeal places Pakatan Harapan’s campaign message around the idea of a stable five-year mandate, responsible leadership, and a promise to honour the trust of the people. The coalition will now look to convince Johor voters that it is ready to lead the state with commitment and accountability.
