Three Year Old Boy Rescued Alive After Six Days Under Venezuela Earthquake Rubble

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 2026 — A three-year-old boy has been rescued alive after spending six days trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building following two devastating earthquakes in Venezuela. The child, identified as Klieber Moran, was pulled from the Los Corales Garden 1 building in La Guaira state by a Jordanian search-and-rescue team.

The rescue was described as one of the most hopeful moments in the ongoing disaster response, as emergency teams continue searching through collapsed structures for survivors. Venezuelan authorities said the child was found alive on the sixth day of rescue operations, making the case especially remarkable because survival chances usually decrease sharply after the first 72 hours following an earthquake.

According to Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez, the boy was trapped under debris for six days before rescuers managed to reach him. After being taken out of the rubble, he received immediate medical attention and was later transported for further treatment in Caracas. Venezuela was struck by two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude on June 24. The tremors happened less than a minute apart, causing buildings to collapse and trapping thousands of people beneath rubble. The earthquake disaster has placed Venezuela’s emergency and medical systems under major pressure. International aid has started arriving, including 47 metric tons of humanitarian supplies from UNICEF to support children and families affected by the disaster. The aid includes emergency health kits and medical supplies for urgent care, newborn care, disease prevention and treatment.
