MetMalaysia Issues Thunderstorm Warning Across Several States Until Noon

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 2026 – The Malaysian Meteorological Department, MetMalaysia, has issued a thunderstorm warning for several states in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan until 12 noon today. The warning covers areas expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.

According to the statement, affected areas in Kedah include Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu. The whole of Penang is also listed under the same weather warning.

In Perak, the areas involved are Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung and Bagan Datuk. The warning also covers Rompin in Pahang.

MetMalaysia also issued the same warning for Jempol and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan, the whole of Melaka, as well as several districts in Johor. The affected districts in Johor are Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.

In Sarawak, the warning involves Tatau and Bintulu in the Bintulu Division, as well as Subis, Miri and Marudi in the Miri Division. The weather warning also includes the Federal Territory of Labuan.

MetMalaysia advised the public to remain alert to weather changes and to obtain the latest information through the department’s official channels. Members of the public in affected areas are encouraged to take precautions, especially when travelling or carrying out outdoor activities during periods of heavy rain and strong winds.
