Malaysian Rider Hakim Danish Attracts Interest From Five Moto3 And Moto2 Teams

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 2026 – Malaysian motorcycle racer Hakim Danish Ramli is gaining major attention in the MotoGP feeder categories after an impressive start to his 2026 Moto3 campaign. The 18-year-old rider, who currently competes for AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi, has reportedly attracted interest from five teams across Moto3 and Moto2 for next season.

Sepang International Circuit Racing team manager Zulfahmi Khairuddin said several high-profile teams had already shown serious interest in securing Hakim Danish’s signature. According to him, discussions began during the German round, where multiple teams approached the Malaysian rider’s management to explore possible options for the future.

Zulfahmi explained that Hakim’s management is not rushing into a decision. The team is reviewing several important factors, including rider development programmes, long-term stability, motorcycle competitiveness and the technical strength of each team.

The Malaysian rider is also being linked with interest from Moto2 teams, showing how quickly his profile has grown in the international racing scene. For Hakim, the next move could become an important step in his journey toward the highest level of motorcycle racing.

However, Zulfahmi stressed that any move must be based on performance potential, not only contract value. He said the ideal team must have a competitive bike, a strong technical crew and an environment where Hakim can continue to develop as a rider.

Hakim’s current team, MT Helmets-MSi, is also reportedly waiting for a decision from his management as it works to finalise its rider line-up for next season. Zulfahmi added that the adaptation between European crews and a Malaysian rider is another key element that must be considered carefully.

Hakim Danish is regarded as one of Malaysia’s brightest young Grand Prix talents. According to MotoGP’s official rider profile, he began racing at the age of eight, competed in the Asia Talent Cup in 2021, and became Asia Talent Cup champion in 2022 after taking four victories that season.

His development continued through the European Talent Cup, Red Bull Rookies Cup and FIM JuniorGP World Championship. MotoGP also noted that he made his Moto3 World Championship debut at the 2025 Malaysian Grand Prix, where he set the fastest lap of the race before earning a full-time Moto3 move with MSI in 2026.

The growing interest around Hakim also adds another layer to Southeast Asia’s rising presence in Moto3, especially with Indonesia’s Veda Ega Pratama also competing strongly in the category. Their progress shows how young riders from the region are becoming more visible in the global motorcycle racing pathway.
