Trailer Driver Killed, Pregnant Wife Injured in Sungai Besar Crash

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 2026 – A young trailer driver was killed while his pregnant wife was injured in a collision involving two heavy vehicles at Jalan Tebuk Marso near Kampung Tebuk Marso early Friday morning.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at approximately 2.49am and dispatched six firefighters with a fire engine from the Sungai Besar Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

The crash involved a Volvo trailer carrying a shipping container and a Hino trailer transporting approximately 36 tonnes of iron. The 21-year-old driver of the container trailer was found unconscious and trapped inside the driver’s compartment.

His 26-year-old wife, who is seven months pregnant, was travelling in the same vehicle. Members of the public managed to remove her from the wreckage before emergency responders arrived.

She sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital by Health Ministry personnel for further examination and treatment. The condition of her unborn child was not detailed in the initial emergency statement.

Firefighters carried out an operation to free the trapped driver and successfully removed him from the damaged vehicle at around 4.15am. Medical personnel later pronounced him dead at the scene.
