Toyota GRMN Corolla Debuts at US$64,360 With Track-Focused Upgrades

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — Toyota has revealed pricing for the 2026 GRMN Corolla, confirming a base manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$64,360 for the most extreme production version of its high-performance hatchback.

The figure excludes the destination and processing charge. With those additional costs included, the GRMN Corolla is expected to reach approximately US$65,655 in the United States. By comparison, the standard manual GR Corolla carries a starting price of US$40,520.

The substantial price difference reflects the GRMN model’s specialised engineering, limited production and extensive motorsport-derived modifications.

GRMN stands for “Gazoo Racing, tuned by the Meister of the Nürburgring,” representing the highest performance level within Toyota’s Gazoo Racing range. The badge signifies a vehicle developed through demanding motorsport environments and refined using testing at Germany’s Nürburgring circuit.

Toyota said the GRMN Corolla incorporates knowledge gained through its participation in Japan’s Super Taikyu endurance racing series.

The model receives a carbon-fibre bonnet with additional ventilation, carbon-fibre front fender ducts and front corner spoilers designed to improve brake cooling and manage airflow around the vehicle.

An adjustable rear wing has also been installed to increase downforce. The wing can be configured through five positions, allowing drivers to adjust its angle depending on track conditions and personal preferences.

Mechanical changes extend beyond the aerodynamic package.

Toyota has equipped the GRMN Corolla with revised front and rear monotube shock absorbers, updated rebound springs and reworked bump stops. The suspension changes are intended to improve tyre contact, cornering performance and stability over uneven surfaces.

The electric power steering and GR-Four all-wheel-drive system have also been recalibrated. Toyota says the adjustments improve high-speed stability and provide a greater rearward torque distribution under acceleration.

Power continues to come from Toyota’s turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder engine, producing 300 horsepower.

However, maximum torque has increased from 295 to 302 pound-feet, providing slightly stronger acceleration without changing the headline horsepower figure.

The model is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres mounted on lightweight forged wheels, providing greater grip for circuit driving.

Inside, Toyota has installed black-and-red semi-bucket front seats and carbon-fibre trim while removing the rear seats. A structural reinforcement brace replaces the rear bench, improving chassis rigidity while reducing weight by approximately 66 pounds.

Other track-oriented equipment includes an intercooler water-spray system and a commemorative Morizo plaque.

Morizo is the racing identity used by Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda, whose involvement in motorsport has played a major role in the development of the company’s modern GR performance vehicles.

Toyota will limit global production of the GRMN Corolla to 730 units, making it one of the rarest modern Corolla variants.

The vehicles will be assembled at Toyota’s Motomachi plant in Japan, with availability focused mainly on North America, Japan and Australia.

Toyota previously indicated that Japanese customers would be able to register purchase requests through the GR smartphone application beginning around autumn 2026, with sales in Japan scheduled to start in 2027.

In the United States, buyers will receive a one-year membership with the National Auto Sport Association and one complimentary high-performance driving session.

The package is intended to help owners understand the vehicle’s track-focused capabilities in a controlled environment.

Although the US$64,360 base price places the GRMN Corolla close to more powerful performance vehicles, Toyota is positioning the model as a specialised collector’s car rather than a conventional hot hatchback.

Its appeal centres on exclusivity, detailed chassis development and direct links to Toyota’s endurance-racing programme.

For buyers seeking a more practical and affordable performance model, the standard GR Corolla continues to offer the same 300-horsepower output with rear seating and a significantly lower starting price.

The GRMN Corolla, meanwhile, is designed for enthusiasts willing to pay a premium for Toyota’s most focused, limited and motorsport-inspired version of the all-wheel-drive hatchback.
