KPJ and Selgate, Two Major Healthcare Networks in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 – Malaysia’s private healthcare landscape includes several hospital groups with different strengths and approaches. Its broader healthcare system includes KPJ Healthcare University, laboratories, pharmacies, outpatient facilities, research initiatives and digital healthcare services.

Another significant part of KPJ’s operations is its support for international patients. Selected hospitals provide appointment coordination, language assistance, airport transfers and other services for patients travelling to Malaysia for medical treatment.

Selgate Hospital, meanwhile, is part of a wider healthcare ecosystem developed by Selgate Corporation Sdn Bhd. Selgate Corporation is fully owned by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor, or PKNS, a development agency owned by the Selangor State Government.

The hospital network is developed through Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd. Its hospital operations include emergency services, inpatient and outpatient care, operating theatres, intensive care, maternity services, paediatric treatment, diagnostic imaging, medical laboratories, pharmacies and ambulance services.

Selgate hospitals are also designed to provide specialist services such as internal medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, cardiology, anaesthesiology, radiology, eye care and rehabilitation. Available services may differ according to the location and operational stage of each hospital.

What distinguishes Selgate is the wider range of healthcare-related companies within its ecosystem. Beyond specialist hospitals, the group is connected to clinics, dental services, diagnostic facilities, nursing services, pharmacies, dialysis centres, senior care, medical technology and healthcare management.
